On May 21, 2021, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities granted Lake Lenape Water Company a $14,967, or 10.8%, increase in authorized revenue and corresponding tariff rates. The company was able to pursue the case predominantly through the efforts of its President, who appeared without counsel. The allowed pro se representation presumably made the case proceeding less expensive for this small water company to the benefit of its customers. The order approved a settlement agreement between the Office of Rate Counsel, the Board’s Staff and the company despite a letter in opposition from the mayor and governing body in which the company provides water service.
